In 2012 Panerai launched an improved Radiomir case that has the same bracelet connection with Radiomir 1950. The case is a pillow-shaped but has not protection bridge. The whole case is solid, simple and graceful. This new Radiomir case is made of white gold, and reaches 45 mm of its diameter and has a 50 meters of water-resistance.
Screw-down white gold winding-up crown is easy to maneuver. Polishing crown has a rilievo of OP, Panerai’s logo. The deep brown alligator belt has a beautiful sewing, and is specially designed for Panerai’s size. When comes to the new material, Panerai applied special white gold which is made 15% of Pd into it. Such a new material has good performance on resisting corrosion and anti-scratch. A single button was set at 8 o’clock to set all performance, such as start and stop. An extensible polishing white gold is set to connect the belt with PANERAI logo on it. This buckle is much bigger than the old series. More elegant and safer. Lug integrates with metal, and matches you wrist to make sure you feel comfortable.
This is a rare Panerai complication watches, as it has sapphire mirror that is coated with anti-dazzling material. All time indexes are bars and dots. There is a 60 seconds dial outside the bezel. The minute counter is set at 3 o’clock and an energy reserve indicator is set at 6 o’clock. The number, 150, is branded on the case back to indicate its attribute. What is placed in this Radiomir is a P.2004/10 automatic winding-up movement. It was developed all by Panerai, and consists of 317 components and 29 diamonds. Three barrels in series guarantee 8 days of power reserve. Such a long power reserve come from the 1940s, which is quite a good one for Panerai collector.
